I took the day off, no Baton Rouge for me. The rendezvous was at seven in the morning. Too early for me and as it seemed also for Steven. He was on his own field trip during the night with some friends and his head hit the pillow at about 05.00 AM in the morning. Rise and shine at six was not an option. But as we say in Holland, ‘at night a man, in the morning a man’ and with our teach waiting for us I ‘gently’ urged him out of bed. I think he thought it was his mother calling him out of bed, within a few minutes he was up and ready to go.
I saw the group off wished them a nice day and went back to bed, what a luxury after ‘Mr. Belien’s ‘survival tour’ of the past week.
I spent the morning on sorting out my photo’s and in the late afternoon I went to Bourbon street for a Jazzy dinner. At nine we were meeting for final drinks and goodbyes to the ‘teach’. Next they were off to Chicago for the group of master students and we back to the university for the final exams and finishing our papers.
