Nearing the last week of my second year at the Amsterdam University and just nine days to go and we're off to the "Easy City" of New Orleans.. Nine students, the Prof. and our teach, Herman Belien will be experiencing what all these lectures the past semester have been all about.
The nine of us will be staying at a Bourbon House Hostel, in one of the safest and trendiest neighborhoods of New Orleans, just a short walk from the St. Charles Streetcar Line that leads directly to the legendary Bourbon Street in the French Quarter.
La Nouvelle-Orléans (New Orleans) was founded May 7, 1718, by the French Mississippi Company, under the direction of Jean-Baptiste Le Moyne de Bienville. Famed for its “joie de vivre” and distinguished Creole culture, the birth place of Jazz, food and ‘Mardi Gras” and Voodoo. A city that is totally different from the rest of the United States.
But first one last paper to write and the final exam on Metropolitan America, but then ... we'll see were the trip will take us.
Greetz to all
