Today started with a visit to the famous Peabody Hotel and we watched the Peabody Ducks as they marched to the fountain in the lobby, a tradition that started 77 years ago.
Then as we were about to leave, the unexpected happened, we saw Pricilla Presley walk into the lobby. Everyone had to have a photo with her.
Ruud told her that we had renewed our wedding vows at the Graceland Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas and she just opened her arms and said; “Then than there must be a photo taken with me”, she also gave us her autograph, this was really a big surprise.
There was another ‘must see’ place we wanted to visit, The Civil Rights Museum was our next stop. It was situated in the Motel where Martin ‘Luther’ King Jr. was assassinated and it was a very moving experience. One of the things he said was, “the dreamer can be killed, but the dream goes on”.
To end it all we had a super show with the Memphis Philharmonic Orchestra, the Terry Mike Jeffrey Band and Elvis’ own TCB band, playing a tribute to Elvis. It has just been one big party.
