G’day all,
I don’t know how we manage it but each trip Down Under is something special. Not just a holiday, but always a mystery tour. This time we hope to meet so many old and new friends so I think it would be best to place the intenary. This is it:
August 16 departing from Schiphol Airport to Kuala Lumpur where we will stay for two nights. Irene if you have any tips for us for places that we MUST visit please tell us.
Arrival in Adelaide on August 20 at 06.15 am. From the airport our first stop will be to pick up the car at the Apollo car hire and from there we hope to visit Jenny and Albert Driehuis, Albert Meadows and Gerrit de Vries. Jenny if that is ok with you just react on the site. I am staying at the camping at the moment and the internet connection is not very strong.
Adrienne and David because you are leaving on a holiday the next day Saturday will be the only time that we can get together. Maybe we can meet you in the evening and have dinner with you, David and Irene.
Irene we will be in Adelaide for three nights and then go to Naracoorte. You will be staying with us at the hotel, that way can see each other as we meet old and new friends. We are really looking forward to seeing you and the family again.
From your lovely home at Naracoorte the trip will go on to Ballarat where we will stay for 2 days then on to Kunnawarra; Ned Kelly country and the Immigration museum at Bonegilla.
Next stop will be Canberra, where we hope to find the immigration applications of my parents. We will be in Canberra for five days, then off to Bathurst, about 200 k’s from Sydney.
Joop we will see you on September 4 and on the 6th we will fly back to Holland. It’s a pretty full schedule, but then again Joop, you know how we do things.
When we are in Sydney we will also meet Aron, a study mate from the University of Amsterdam. He has graduated and is now starting on a world trip.
Well this is it for now I will be placing some more photo’s on the web so dear friends from the past if you recognize anyone please tell me, or better yet if you do recognize them and you know where they live, try and contact them so that when we are in Adelaide we can have some sort of reunion.
We are really excited and are looking forward to meeting all of you again.
