Had a real ‘no worries’ flight and with just a half hour delay we arrived at Bourbon House round 11 in the evening. We were glad to go to bed so there was no seeing the town tonight. At twelve all of us were fast asleep.

Breakfast with pancakes and coffee, and ... BIG mugs of coffee.
Herman Belien and Ruud Janssens came to the hostel at about nine with the program for the week, gonna’ be a busy one by the looks of things. I had a bad headache so I stayed in, but that gave me some time to make some photo’s and get started with filling you guys at home in on what’s on.
Bourbon House is in a nice quiet neighbourhood in the Lower Garden District somewhere between the Warehouse District and the Garden District proper. According to the travel guide it is a ‘hip’, racially mixed neighbourhood, with romantic nineteenth- century buildings. Not a really great place for sightseeing, or so the guide says, but superb for shopping and good places to eat. The St. Charles Street car is nearby. I’ll be taking it this afternoon to go downtown and meet the group later on this afternoon.

Hi Marion,
Good to read that the flight was ok. With the headache gone it’s time for you to enjoy the city and the program of Ruud Jansens and Herman Belien. The first photos give an impression of what the neighborhood where you stay looks like. Houses with only two floors and no concrete. So it must be a city full of light. The sidewalk is as I know from the USA and Australia. It gives me a feeling, just a bit.
